The Red State in Your Future

Voters around the country are concluding it’s better to be red than dead—applying a whole meaning to an old phrase. - Merrill Matthews/Forbes (image source: via Wikipedia)

If you do not currently live in a red state, there’s a good chance you will be in the near future. Either you will flee to a red state or a red state will come to you—because voters fed up with blue-state fiscal irresponsibility will elect candidates who promise to pass red-state policies.

...though we are a year away from the 2012 election, generic Republican vs. Democratic polls have given Republicans the edge for more than a year. If that pattern holds—and if blue-state leaders refuse to learn from their policy mistakes, just like their true-blue leader in the White House—it likely means there will be even more red states in 2013.

One reason for that shift is that red states are taking fiscal responsibility while many blue states aren’t—and it shows. The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), a bipartisan association of conservative state legislators, recently released its fourth edition of “Rich States, Poor States,” by the well-known Reagan economist Arthur B. Laffer, the Wall Street Journal’s Steve Moore, and Jonathan Williams of ALEC.

...Most of the “poor states” states, as ALEC calls them, have the highest personal income tax rates and the largest unfunded state pension liabilities. But instead of taking the red-state approach by lowering taxes and/or cutting spending, the blue states tend to want to raise taxes even higher, just like their White House mentor.

The result of their overpromising and overspending, and their knee-jerk response to solving their fiscal problems by raising taxes, is that people are increasingly fleeing the blue states. As commentator Michael Medved points out: “Between 2009 and 2010 the five biggest losers in terms of ‘residents lost to other states’ were all prominent redoubts of progressivism: California, New York, Illinois, Michigan, and New Jersey. Meanwhile, the five biggest winners in the relocation sweepstakes are all commonly identified as red states in which Republicans generally dominate local politics: Florida, Texas, North Carolina, Arizona, and Georgia.”

The National Popular Vote Plan is an initiative to effectively abolish the Electoral College without a constitutional amendment.

A major push to circumvent our constitutional method of electing a president is currently being efforted by the 501(c) organization National Popular Vote Inc., a George Soros funded who’s who of the progressive left. With the recent addition of California to the list, nine states have now signed into law a bill that awards all of the state’s electoral college votes to the winner of the “national” popular vote for president.

‘California and Bust:' The smart money says the U.S. economy will splinter, with some states thriving, some states not, and all eyes are on California as the nightmare scenario

In San Jose, the cost of retirement benefits and contracts with police and fire agencies has been cannibalizing government services for years, and the process is about to sharply accelerate. - San Diego Union-Tribune

In Vallejo, the cost of contracts with police officers and firefighters led to a declaration of bankruptcy in 2008. Now City Hall feels like a ghost town, roads go unpaved and traffic lights are set on permanent flashing mode. Public services are skimpy – with no prospects of a rebound in sight. ...

As Vallejo and San Jose illustrate, a painful new era looms for many local governments. Some will go belly-up. Some will muddle through. It all hinges on the quality of local leadership – starting with leaders who don’t peddle what San Jose’s mayor calls the “delusion” that the status quo is sustainable with some modest tinkering.

The good news continued for Herman Cain Friday, as the former Godfather’s Pizza CEO won the Western Republican Leadership Conference straw poll of GOP presidential contenders, edging out former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich — and leaving Texas Gov. Rick Perry in a distant fifth place.

Mr. Cain, whose longshot campaign got a major boost by winning a major Florida straw poll last month, received nearly 31 percent of the vote and Mr. Romney pulled in nearly 29 percent of the vote. Mr. Gingrich, who has also risen in recent national polls after his campaign’s shaky start, secured more than 20 percent of the vote. Texas Rep. Ron Paul finished with about 10 percent, Mr. Perry received almost 4 percent, and Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota received just 1 percent.

Oakland to #Occupiers: Get out

The document cited fire hazards, sanitation issues, a growing rat problem and graffiti. It referred to an “increasing frequency of violence, assaults, threats and intimidation” and complained that protesters had denied access to “emergency personnel to treat injured persons and to police to patrol the Plaza.”

“As a result of these serious conditions, the Administration has determined that facilitating this expression of speech is no longer viable, nor in the interest of public health and safety,” the order said.

Obama campaign asks artists to ‘work for free’ on jobs posters, sparking outrage

The Obama campaign has a unique solution to stimulating job growth: Get a bunch of designers to contribute their work for free. - TIME

According to an article by Rolling Stone's Tim Dickinson, the president's campaign has put out a call for artists across the country to donate designs for a campaign poster. The key word in that sentence being "donate," as the designers would not be paid for their services. This, despite the fact that, as Rolling Stone reports, the Obama campaign has more than $60 million cash on hand. In an unfortunate ironic twist, the poster is meant to promote the president's jobs program, specifically, "illustrating why we support President Obama's plan to create jobs now."
These incongruous means to job creation has put the usually left-leaning Rolling Stone on the warpath, saying, "In an economy this bad, you'd think a presidential campaign that flush would be happy to pay good money for a talented designer to create a campaign poster."

...winners of the contest get a framed copy of the poster, signed by the president ("approximate retail value $195"), which you could potentially sell on eBay.

(E)ven if you don't win the contest, Obama for America owns your intellectual property. A practice most professional designers shun.... - Ad Age

Members of the design and ad community did a great deal of free work for Obama in 2008. But at the time, he was selling hope and change to people eager to buy. With too much of that change going in the wrong direction, this time they're eager to get paid--especially if the campaign in question is sitting on a war chest that makes it "the 1%" of the political field.

An Open Letter to the Obama For America Campaign - Graphic Artists Guild

The Graphic Artists Guild Handbook: Pricing & Ethical Guidelines cites the current rate for the design of a poster for this type of distribution to be approximately $4,000 and upwards....

How obvious is this irony: A crowdsourced contest soliciting free work (spec work) from American artists for the purpose of promoting legislation to create jobs.

To add insult to injury, the contest rules state that all artists who submit work to the contest grant the Obama For America campaign an unrestricted unpaid irrevocable license to use ALL of the submissions, not just the winning entry (term #17). And, although the Obama For America campaign requires permission to use the artist’s name and likeness, there’s no promise to even give the artist credit when her/his work is used (term #1).

It gets worse. Of course, entering the contest means that you agree to the contest rules, and indemnifying the committee is part of the rules, so you agree to defend the campaign committee and yourself against an infringement claim at your expense.

“Occupy Wall Street — the Beginning of Obama’s Campaign”

As one month of "Occupy Wall Street” passes, it’s fascinating how media and politicians alike, with one or two exceptions, have managed a remarkable suspension of disbelief when it comes to the organized source of these open-air leftist animal houses. - Tammy Bruce at Newsmax

These are not protests against Wall Street, they’re protests for Barack Obama’s re-election campaign and are organized and directed by a number of his campaign supporting organizations, including one of his favorite — the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). It is also an indication of a virtual meltdown of the left, but could succeed if the GOP continues to fumble the ball in response.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has gone out of her way to portray the occupests as a spontaneous action by frustrated Americans.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Here’s how it’s supposed to work: Obama knows he’s failed, causing one disaster after another. He cannot run on his record, he can’t even have it as an issue. He needs to be an innocent bystander as he stands right next to the fire he created.

He accomplishes this by doing what leftists do best — creating a shiny false crisis, a straw man, to be the new fall guy for the disastrous economic situation his failed policies and contempt for this nation have delivered to each of our front doors.

This new shiny enemy is, of course, the big and generic “Wall Street.” From the beginning it was clear once they demonized Wall Street the next move would be to attach Republicans, and the Republican presidential candidates especially, to the new, shiny and evil “rich bankers from Wall Street.”

The fantasy of this false crisis is to get both “rich bankers” and Republicans blamed for a disaster entirely of Obama’s making.

All of this is now taking place, with Obama praising the mob, and his chief adviser David Axelrod directly attaching Republican candidates to the new enemy.

Amazingly, the GOP candidates, with the exception of Herman Cain, seem completely oblivious to the fact the occupy protests are the Obama campaign, run not only by the SEIU but also a front group for the disgraced ACORN, an entity whom he told in 2007 would be involved in the shaping of his presidential agenda.

This administration is failing epically because it’s business ignorance is only matched by its liberal arrogance, which has become a barrier for any course corrections.

STEVE JOBS TOLD OBAMA IN 2010 ‘YOU’RE HEADED FOR A ONE-TERM PRESIDENCY’ - The Blaze (image source)

A highly anticipated biography about secretive Apple co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs, written by Walter Isaacson, is slated for release October 24. The Huffington Post, however, managed to obtain a copy early and revealed some very interesting tidbits about the life of the Apple visionary — namely that, upon meeting President Barack Obama in 2010, Jobs told him, “you’re headed for a one-term presidency.”

...Jobs, who insisted the president personally extend an invitation to meet with him, told Obama that “regulations and unnecessary costs” make doing business in the United States, as opposed to China, prohibitive.

Sea change: President Barack Obama’s fluency in all things youth culture helped him galvanize a historically apathetic bloc of voters in 2008 and cruise to victory with an enormous share of their vote. But in the three years since, there’s been another youth surge: among the ranks of college Republicans.

“Our biggest recruiting tool over the last four years has been President Obama,” said Anton Dirnberger, president of the University of Michigan College Republicans. - Politico

Dirnberger said regular meeting attendance has jumped from 20 members before the 2008 elections to 80 to 100 members this year, and total membership has jumped from 1,000 to 1,500 in the past three years.

Heading into 2012, the demographic that invested the most energy in Obama’s candidacy in 2008 is now one of the most financially unstable, saddled by soaring student loan debt and high unemployment. If the Republican Party makes serious overtures to address that vulnerability on the trail, it could make a significant dent in Obama’s portion of the youth vote.

“Let’s park the campaign bus, put away the talking points and do something to address the jobs crisis,” McConnell said this morning. “It’s completely preposterous at a time when 14 million Americans are looking for a job in this country for the president to be riding around on a bus, saying we should raise taxes.”

The implication here is that as long as you are a good person, you succeed. Who is going to guarantee that? Who is going to decide how nice you are? Who is going to decide what is meant by “fair” share? Obama will. Or some Politburo. not the market.

Zero - 0% think economy is “very good”

The more President Obama and the once-again-unhinged Vice President Biden do their campaign stops, alleging that congressional failure to borrow hundreds of millions of dollars more for states and the federal government to hire more workers equates to dirty air and water, and more rapes and hold-ups, the sense of utter unreality grows.

As we saw with the Representative Giffords shooting, we now know the Obama Rule: Anytime the president sermonizes about civility and the need to curb partisan rhetoric, this is a telltale sign that in a few days a savage partisan attack will surely follow.

Senate Democrats Push for $35 Billion States Bailout, Will Funnel $95 Million to Democrat Campaign Coffers

Americans for Limited Government President Bill Wilson today issued the following statement blasting a Senate Democrat plan to spend $35 billion to bail out state and local governments: "This is like a horror story with endless sequels: 'The Return of the States Bailout'. States already got $145 billion in the original Obama 'stimulus' in 2009, and another $26.1 billion in August 2010. Now, the Obama economic recovery has been so weak that states that refuse to clean their fiscal houses are still facing a $103 billion shortfall for this fiscal year as revenues fail to recover, and so Senate Democrats want another $35 billion.

"Senate Democrats project their plan will prop up 400,000 teachers' jobs with $30 billion of the funding for that purpose. When you do the math, if you conservatively assumed only half them were unionized, with average contributions to state, local, and national unions combined about $475, it works out to a $95 million political slush fund to help Democrats, including Barack Obama, get elected.

"This plan to borrow-print-and-spend another $35 billion for the states is not about creating jobs. It won't create jobs. It's about propping up government worker unions, and funneling $95 million to help Democrats' ailing campaign to get reelected. It is hard to think of a greater waste of taxpayer resources."

Bombshell: Chairman of Local Indiana Democratic Party Resigns Amid Fake Signature Scandal

Chairman of Local Indiana Democratic Party Resigns Amid Fake Signature Scandal - FOX

Both of Indiana's Republican and Democratic Party chairmen have called for a federal investigation into the forged names that appeared on petitions from the 2nd Congressional District, which contains St. Joseph County. Among the dozens of names so far discovered to be fake are former Indiana Democratic Gov. Joe Kernan.

Kernan told the South Bend Tribune last week that neither the print version of his name nor the signature that appear on the suspect document are anything like his own.

Yet, his and other names were approved by the county voter registration office with the use of a rubber stamp in place of a signature by the Republican member of the office.

The Tribune reported that the St. Joseph County voter registration office has a Democratic and Republican member who sign off on petition pages submitted for review. However, Republican Linda Silcott was out of the office on bereavement leave on the days the suspected fakes passed through her office.

Silcott's stamped signature is used on the suspect pages while Democrat Pam Brunette signed off on the petitions in her own hand. The Tribune reported that Silcott's deputy, Mary Carrol Ringler, has authority to use the stamp, but she does not recall if she did so, in part because the dates of the forged petitions coincide with her first two weeks in her post.

On Friday Indiana Republican Party Chairman Eric Holcomb submitted a request for a federal probe to be conducted by the Department of Justice.

Ind. Dem quits in fake-signature flap - Politico

He faces allegations he submitted hundreds of forged signatures - including that of a former governor - on petitions to get Clinton and Obama on the 2008 Indiana primary ballot.

Indiana’s Republican Party Chair Eric Holcomb has called for a federal investigation into the allegations. Holcomb sent a formal request to the Department of Justice on Friday, and told the South Bend Tribune on Monday that Morgan “may very well be the first domino to fall in this growing scandal.”

“While my counterpart continues to call this an ‘isolated’ incident, it is becoming clearer by the day there was nothing isolated about the forging and certifying of potentially hundreds of signatures in the 2008 Democratic primary,” Holcomb said.

And St. Joseph County Prosecutor Michael Dovak told the South Bend Tribune on Monday he is working with a federal attorney on an investigation into the forged signatures

Indiana Democratic Party Chair Dan Parker said he supports an investigation “to determine how this isolated incident occurred and hold anyone involved accountable.”

Another Shock Report: Without Forged Signatures, Obama Would Not Have Been On Indiana's Primary Ballot - Advance Indiana

The South Bend Tribune has turned in yet another bombshell report on the petition-forging scandal that has enveloped Barack Obama's historical election victory in 2008 and, in particular, his unlikely win in the November, 2008 election in the state of Indiana. When the Tribune and Howey Politics first reported on their discovery of dozens, if not hundreds, of forged signatures on the primary ballot nominating petitions of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, Indiana Democratic Chairman Dan Parker quickly dismissed the significance of the finding, claiming the forged signatures would not have made the difference over whether either candidate made it on to Indiana's 2008 Democratic primary ballot. The Tribune's investigation has reached the opposition conclusion. The headline in today's paper reads, "Fake signatures may mean Obama didn't actually qualify in Indiana."

...Some may seek to minimize the impact of this revelation because Obama lost the Indiana primary as offering evidence it would have made no difference to his 2008 presidential prospects, but the reality is quite different. Indiana became a pivotal state for the Obama campaign. Unprecedented resources were spent here both during the primary and general election. Obama's campaign had to face off against the Bayh Democratic political machine, which was backing Hillary Clinton's campaign. If he had been kept off the ballot in 2008 because his campaign failed to file a sufficient number of signatures--as the Democrats attempted to keep John McCain off the ballot in 2008--it could have been a fatal blow to his campaign for the Democratic nomination. Even in losing, Obama's narrow loss to Clinton was portrayed in the media as a victory for his campaign because of how close he came to winning here and provided his statewide effort momentum going into the November general election against McCain...

Public input blocked: Last-minute 'gut and amend' laws bypass scrutiny in California

Senate Bill 202 was written about 24 hours earlier, when Democrat Loni Hancock of Berkeley deleted the language in a bill about filing fees on voter initiatives and replaced it with a highly political proposal to change the state's election laws in ways that will favor Democrats in 2012. - Laurel Rosenhall/Sacramento Bee

Senate Bill 202 was written about 24 hours earlier, when Democrat Loni Hancock of Berkeley deleted the language in a bill about filing fees on voter initiatives and replaced it with a highly political proposal to change the state's election laws in ways that will favor Democrats in 2012.

The (Democrat controlled California) Legislature wrote 48 bills in the last three weeks of the regular session, long after the deadlines for most law-making procedures had passed. They did so by deleting the text of existing bills and replacing it with something new and often unrelated – a process known as "gut and amend."

Lawmakers sent 22 of those bills to (Governor Brown), who signed all but three of them....

"The lack of process in this bill is inexcusable," Sen. Ted Lieu of Torrance told his colleagues that night. "We as Democrats should be ashamed at how this came to the Senate floor."

Ron Paul Media Blackout Confirmed

After months of observations that the mainstream media was ignoring the libertarian standard-bearer, a new study by the Pew Research Center's Project for Excellence in Journalism shows just that - The Atlantic

(T)he Texas Congressman, who has consistently polled in the high single digits -- Real Clear Politics's aggregate poll currently has him at 8 percent -- has received the least overall coverage of any candidate. From May 2 to October 9, Paul appeared as the "primary newsmaker in only 2% of all election stories."

...While complaints about a lack of media coverage are typical coming from any struggling candidate, Paul boosters, and even some independent observers, have argued that Paul's media blackout is particularly striking considering his concrete successes on the campaign trail.

President Obama’s jobs bill failed in the Senate this week, and the headline is not that it lost, it’s that it lost and nobody noticed.

You know why it failed? Because he was for it. Because he said, “Pass this bill.” - Peggy Noonan

So weak is public faith in his economic leadership that people figure if he’s behind it, it must be a bad idea. After the bill failed, the president said he won’t accept defeat: He and the American people “won’t take no for an answer.” Why does he talk like that, in a way so removed from reality? He didn’t sound resolute, he sounded plaintive, like someone doing a sound check in an empty hall he knows will never fill. ◼ This Is No Time for Moderation - America can't trim and tweak its way back to economic dynamism. - in the Wall Street Journal

Romney Beating Obama in a Fight for Wall St. Cash - New York Times

Employees of Goldman Sachs, who in the 2008 campaign gave Mr. Obama over $1 million — more than donors from any other private employer in the country — have given him about $45,000 this year....

For his part, Mr. Romney is now pitching himself as the turnaround expert for an ailing national economy. He has personally wooed major Wall Street donors, successfully recruiting several senior financial executives poised to back Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey had he opted for a White House bid.

But anger at big banks — manifested by the growing Occupy Wall Street protests in New York City and elsewhere — is palpable enough that Mr. Romney must avoid being seen as a friend of an industry that many Americans blame for onerous bank fees and underwater mortgages.

“To the extent anyone is supporting Mitt Romney over President Obama,” said Andrea Saul, a Romney spokeswoman, “it is because of the state of the economy and the president’s failures to create jobs.”

Obama Science Czar Led UN Effort to Hide Proceedings, Subvert FOIA, Records Indicate

Using cloud based resources to hide correspondence that should come under the presidential records act. How many other czars and departments are doing the same thing?

Specifically, CEI's FOIA request seeks details of the Obama Administration's involvement in a UN IPCC plan to hide official online correspondence in non-governmental accounts. The express purpose of creating a non-government web-site "cloud" communications system was to avoid national transparency laws, such as the U. S. FOIA. However, with OSTP having taken over the lead U.S. role in the IPCC in 2009, this also implicates the Presidential Records Act of 1978 (PRA).

The new IPCC system sought to shield U. S. government employees working on the Fifth Assessment Report from FOIA requests by hiding their correspondence, even though they are being tasked and paid by the federal government to work on the report. The scandal-plagued IPCC is funded with millions of U.S. taxpayer dollars. CEI demonstrates in its FOIA request that the IPCC's motivation to avoid future FOIA requests was past embarrassment over releases of earlier communications between IPCC officials and participating bureaucrats, appointees and scientists working on the assessment reports....

"The effort to circumvent the Freedom of Information Act has apparently been conducted with direct assistance by the Obama White House," said Christopher Horner, CEI Senior Fellow. "Shortly after taking office, the Obama administration moved the lead role on IPCC work from the Department of Commerce to OSTP, run by Dr. John Holdren. The plan to create a FOIA-free zone was then implemented.

Ron Paul to propose $1T in specific budget cuts

Ron Paul’s opinions about cutting the budget are well-known, but on Monday, he’ll get specific: the Texas congressman will lay out a budget blueprint for deep and far-reaching cuts to federal spending - Politico

During an afternoon speech in Las Vegas ahead of Tuesday’s debate, Paul will say that his plan for $1 trillion in cuts will create a balanced federal budget by the third year of his presidency.

“Dr. Paul is the only candidate with a plan to cut spending and truly balance the budget,” says an executive summary of the plan, which POLITICO obtained, along with detailed spending and taxation levels, ahead of its release. “This is the only plan that will deliver what America needs in these difficult times: Major regulatory relief, large spending cuts, sound monetary policy, and a balanced budget.”

Ron Paul’s Economic Plan: Cut 5 Cabinet Agencies, Cut Taxes, Cut President’s Pay - Wall Street Journal

Mr. Paul’s “Restore America” plan calls for a drastically reduced federal government to help spur American business — a familiar theme for the Texas Republican and many of the GOP White House hopefuls. But unlike some of his Republican rivals who have released economic plans, the libertarian congressman mostly avoids the weeds of tax and trade policy, according to excerpts.

But Mr. Paul does get specific when he calls for a 10% reduction in the federal work force, while pledging to limit his presidential salary to $39,336, which his campaign says is “approximately equal to the median personal income of the American worker.” The current pay rate for commander in chief is $400,000 a year.

The Paul plan would also lower the corporate tax rate to 15% from 35%, though it is silent on personal income tax rates, which Mr. Paul would like to abolish. The congressman would end taxes on personal savings and extend “all Bush tax cuts.”

Democrats Have Serious Connections with #OccupyWallSt

With more revelations likely to come, initial emails released by Big Government demonstrate that not only do Democrats all the way up to the White House support the ongoing Occupy movement, they have formally partnered with it in terms of fundraising and support. - Dan Riehl/Big Government

Check this out below via a leaked Occupy email first posted by Big Government. Not long ago, Howard Dean was viewed as a viable presidential candidate by the Democrat establishment, and the group he started, Democracy for America, is by no means seen as fringe by American media.
“We currently find ourselves in Phase 3. Senior members of the White House administration, and the President himself, have expressed support for OWS. Democracy for America, a Howard Dean initiated group just sent an email blast to more than a million members tonight selling yard signs that say “We Are the 99%” with co-branded urls: OccupyWallSt.org and DemocracyforAmerica.org/occupy. OWS is embraced by the establishment as a means to amplify existing agendae(sic). Bloomberg gives tacit “permission” for our occupation, effectively rendering it non-threatening and normalizing it. Result is rise in media coverage of occupation as nuisance to neighbors.
This is from ABC News, not some right-wing, conservative blog or news site. At 1:30 into the brief ABC video at previous link, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi yet once again invokes the “change” mantra, agreeing that “it has to happen.” The similarities in thought, action and ideal between today’s Democrat Party and a movement now creating real havoc across America is undeniable.
ABC News reports that a faction of the computer hacker group Anonymous has threatened, in a gesture of sympathy with Occupy, to launch a cyber attack against the NYSE. In a YouTube video posted last weekend, a computer-generated voice warns, “Many people refuse to accept that Operation Invade Wall Street is a reality.”
Big Government and aligned blogs, as is now just beginning to be demonstrated here, will continue to do their job in providing American media consumers with pertinent facts and information they have a right to know. It remains to be seen if the so-called mainstream media is prepared to do their job by reporting objectively on the American Left, Obama and the Democrat political establishment – a job they never did do well, if at all, during the election of 2008.

Journolist 2.0: OccupyDC Emails Show Main Stream Media, Dylan Ratigan, Working With Protesters To Craft Message - Dana Loesch/Big Journalism
Journolist 2.0 includes well known names such as MSNBC’s Dylan Ratigan, Rolling Stone’s Matt Tiabbi who both are actively participating; involvement from other listers such as Bill Moyers and Glenn Greenwald plus well-known radicals like Noam Chomsky, remains unclear. The list also includes a number of Occupy organizers, such as one of the Occupy Wall Street main organizers Kevin Zeese.

In these emails we see MSNBC’s Ratigan, hawking his book in the footnotes, instructing occupiers on how properly to present their demands and messages while simultaneously appearing on television reporting “objectively” on the story (when he’s not taking part in the protests himself as content.)

Ironically, if the media reported this story more honestly, it might spur more Democrats to donate to Obama… so shhh.

DOE in the headlights: First Solyndra, then SunPower

When we look a little closer we find that SunPower was a big contributor to the Democrat Party with $4,000 going to Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., $3,000 to Rep. Gabrielle Gifford, D-Ariz., and $2,900 to Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif. - Hernando Today/Tampa Tribune, by Len Tria

The Department of Energy (DOE) claimed the project would provide 350 construction worker jobs and 15 permanent jobs — more than $1 billion for 15 permanent jobs! At this rate we will go broke long before we can put to work the millions of unemployed Americans. How about $80 million per permanent job created.

New York Daily News owner ◼ Mortimer Zuckerman maintains that America will solve its problems over the long haul—"I am not somebody who's pessimistic about this country. I have had a life that's been better than my fantasies," he says—but he's certainly pessimistic about the current administration. That began shortly after inauguration day in 2009.

Obama and the 'Competency Crisis' - Mortimer Zuckerman/Wall Street Journal

It is no surprise that many have begun to doubt the president's leadership qualities. J.P. Morgan calls it the "competency crisis." The president is not seen fighting for his own concrete goals, nor finding the right allies, especially leaders of business big or small. Instead, his latent hostility to the business community has provoked a mutual response of disrespect. This is lamentable given the unique role that small business especially plays in creating jobs.

Lisa Fithian reveals the long term planning: "Community based organizations - and unions - around the country - had a fall campaign - to shut down the banks - we kicked it off - the same week - #occupywallstreet happened. We've done actions in in Seattle, - San Francisco - Boston - LA - and this week - Chicago and - New York - Minneapolis - next week - Denver - Honolulu - St. Louis is going down too...

We're from different movements - we have different cultures - we're using different strategies - we have a common enemy - Wall Street - across the country - we need to learn - to work with one another - on our differences - have real solidarity in the streets - and most of all - it's our job - to make sure - that the most impacted people, - the undocumented folks - the poor people - the students in debt - are able to have their voices heard, which means - a lot of the young white men - need to make sure - they have the mike first - this is how we build solidarity - and we use the privilege we have based on our skin color our race and our class - that we support each other's backs so we can all have the presence in the streets welcome to #occupychicago."

Lisa Fithian: #Occupy Organizer, Union Educator–And Israel-Hater - Larry O'Connor/Big Government

As President Barack Obama, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, and other Democratic Party leaders line up with the Fithian-led “Occupy” protesters, they might want to consider that they are supporting a movement headed by a woman who organizes and leads radicals who want Israel eliminated from the map.

Will they risk alienating her (and her Big Labor sponsors) by condemning her views on Israel? Or will they continue to turn a blind eye to the hatred and antisemitism inherent in these well-financed demonstrations?
