Before you read this excellent @washingtonpost story about @realDonaldTrump DOJ @FBI and #ReleaseTheMemo, fix in your mind these enduring principles/starting points: (1) @POTUS is the head of the Article II Executive Branch. The AG, DAG, AAG serve at his pleasure as does @FBI

I have offered DACA a wonderful deal, including a doubling in the number of recipients & a twelve year pathway to citizenship, for two reasons: (1) Because the Republicans want to fix a long time terrible problem. (2) To show that Democrats do not want to solve DACA, only use it!

“Trump has been more successful so far than Democrats ever expected or are willing to admit”

One of the strongest takeaways for me was the fact that people in the audience, who presumably don’t follow media and politics as closely as bloggers, were fully aware of the tactics Democrats and their media allies are using to try to “resist” Trump. They see through it all and are happy about what Trump has been able to achieve in his first year.

The Russia 'Fake News' Scare Is All About Chilling Speech

...As it turns out, reports today say that Twitter’s internal analysis found that it was mostly Americans, not creepy Slavic mind-control robots, who were behind the hashtags. Not that it really matters, anyway. If a group of Americans have a legitimate issue to rally around, how are they supposed to control what outsiders do? It’s not as if #ReleaseTheMemo was a secret or illegal. Republican politicians were openly using it.

Yet, if Feinstein and Schiff had their way, Twitter and Facebook would have moved to quash the #ReleaseTheMemo hashtag for what turned out to be apparently solely partisan reasons. Sounds like a power that can be abused. Even if the two had been genuinely troubled by Russian hashtags — yes, suspend your disbelief — the source of fake news is not always easily discernible. Sometimes it comes to you from an anonymous Russian bot, and sometimes it’s retweeted by a prominent journalist....

California’s State Budget: The Governor’s Proposal

Hey Nancy Pelosi, can you hear us now? #TaxReform

House Intel Committee Could Vote on #ReleaseTheMemo Next Week

"California will go bankrupt from new state tax proposal"

Two California lawmakers pushed back against President Donald Trump’s tax reform plan, calling it a “middle-class tax increase,” and introduced a new bill that would force large companies to give up half of its savings to the state.

...“We’ve been losing jobs and bleeding jobs for the last 15 to 18 to 20 years. Now we’re sort of at the bottom of the barrel so to speak, we have so much poverty out there, it’s not even funny. Homeless people all over the place. It’s going to be devastating to business,” he said.

Preston said the reason Democrats in California are pushing for this tax bill, is because they are desperate for cash.

“It also shows you how desperate Jerry Brown and the rest of the mono-party here in California [are]. They’re desperate right now, they are very desperate for cash,” he said....

The Obama Government’s Secret Societies

A week after the election, groups inside and outside the government, some calling themselves Obama Anonymous, had begun meeting to plan the “resistance” to Trump. Unlike the angry protesters in the streets, this resistance wasn’t a new organization. It consisted of Washington D.C. government lifers.

At the CFPB, there was a group calling itself Dumbledore’s Army. Within the FBI and the DOJ, there was a nameless “secret society”. Its details are being derived from text messages exchanged between Peter Strzok, a disgraced member of Mueller’s team, and his mistress, Lisa Page, who worked for FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe....

The DOJ and FBI secret society, Dumbledore’s Army and Obama Anonymous are all holdovers from a radical administration that was obsessed with protecting its secrets and destroying its enemies.

In the summer of ’07, Obama promised that his would be the most transparent administration in history. "The real business of our democracy isn't done in town halls or public meetings or even in the open halls of Congress," he had complained. "Decisions are made in closed-door meetings, or with the silent stroke of the President's pen."

Then he went on to preside over a regime where the “stroke of the President’s pen” outweighed Congress. The real decisions weren’t even made in cabinet meetings, but with a close circle of advisers, like Ben Rhodes, whose proceedings weren’t revealed to the public.

Top administration figures like Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Attorney General Eric Holder, Attorney General Loretta Lynch, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson and the IRS’ Lois Lerner used secret email accounts to avoid transparency leading to major scandals. It was no coincidence that they were also at the center of some of the administration’s worst abuses....

Ugandan president tells other African leaders: ‘I love Trump’

“America has got one of the best presidents ever,” Museveni said, during the opening of the East African Legislative Assembly on Tuesday in Kampala, the Ugandan capital.

According to The Associated Press, the statements arose during Museveni’s speech about the need for Africa’s integration.

“I love Trump because he tells Africans frankly,” Museveni said during the meeting. “I don’t know whether he was misquoted or whatever. But he talks to Africans frankly. In the world, you cannot survive if you are weak.”

Museveni has served as the Ugandan president since 1986.

‘‘Africans need to solve their problems … Africa is 12 times the size of India, in terms of land area, lots of resources and now, the population is growing. Why can’t we make Africa strong?” Museveni challenged the legislators.
