Billionaire H. Ross Perot died yesterday at the age of 89 after an ultimately unsuccessful fight with leukemia. Perot, is mostly known for his two failed presidential campaigns. There are some who blame him for President H.W. Bush’s loss to Bill Clinton. I am not among them. But that’s not the subject of today’s offering. Ross Perot was much more than an “eccentric” billionaire turned politician.
Perot is also a legend in American Military circles. We’ve all heard the old adage: There are 3 types of people; Those Who Make Things Happen, Those Who Watch Things Happen, and Those Who Wonder What Happened. Perot wasn’t someone who things happened to, or who continually wondered, “What happened?” He made things happen.
Today during his morning show, David Webb and I had a conversation about Operation Hotfoot, Ross Perot’s private, personally funded operation to rescue two of his executives from an Iranian prison, just days before the return of Ayatollah Khomeini and the Iranian revolution—a revolution that resulted in the imprisonment of 52 American hostages by the revolutionary “government.”...
I was very sad to hear about his passing. He was a great American. Everyone should read "On Wings of Eagles" by Ken Folliet. It tells much of his story. https://t.co/2X0LZk9aKJ— Garry Moon (@MoonGarry) July 9, 2019
Ross Perot. June 27th 1930 - July 9th 2019. Thinking of Ross Perot tonight and all he did for military families behind the scenes with no recognition, and what he did for mine. We will never forget it. pic.twitter.com/v22GUNhYXY— Jack Carr (@JackCarrUSA) July 9, 2019

That’s a pretty fundamental rule in #leadership: treat them like you treat yourself. Things you don’t like, they don’t like.”

For many it became popular sport to make fun of the little man with big ears when he ran for President, but for those who know what a patriot he really was - today is very sad day.— MG John R. Evans (@CG_ArmyROTC) July 10, 2019
Rest In Peace Ross Perot, and may YOU now be carried On Wings of Eagles. 🦅
