🔶🔶BREAKING🔷🔷President Donald Trump said at the White House Tuesday he wanted the federal government to send direct payments to Americans suffering economically from the coronavirus. The proposal was detailed by Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin on Tuesday during a press briefing at the White House. “We’re looking at sending checks to Americans immediately,” Mnuchin said, adding, “Americans need cash now and the president wants to get cash now.” Mnuchin said that Americans could expect an individual stimulus within two weeks as he continued to negotiate with companies. He added that wealthy Americans would not get direct payments as they did not need it. “We want to make sure Americans get money in their pockets quickly,” Mnuchin said. Trump said there were four different ways to get funding directly to Americans, and said that although he supported a payroll tax cut, he was looking at a better way to get funding to Americans faster. “We want to do something much faster than that,” Trump said. There has been growing support among Republican Senators for direct payments to the American people as proposed by Breitbart economic editor John Carney on Saturday.

President Donald Trump wants an $850 billion economic package to help combat the economic effects of the coronavirus, according to reports. The package, according to reports, will ask for dramatic tax cuts and industry rescue funding for companies like the airline industry to pull them through the crisis. Congress already passed an $8 billion package of funding to help fight the virus, which Trump signed, and the House of Representatives has passed a second package of economic relief that includes funding for food and nutrition, paid sick leave, and free coronavirus testing. The Republican-led Senate has called for a much bigger economic package as the stock market collapsed by 12.93 percent on Monday. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin has already begun negotiating a much bigger plan with Senate Republicans. The president is expected to detail his planned economic package in an 11:30 a.m. EST press conference on Tuesday.
