President Trump ripped into Harvard University on Tuesday for its decision to continue with online coursework into the 2020-2021 academic year amid the coronavirus pandemic.⁣ ⁣ "I see what Harvard announced that they're closing for the season or for the year. I think it’s ridiculous. I think it’s an easy way out. I think they ought to be ashamed of themselves," Trump said. "I don’t know if people are helping them. I guess their endowment’s plenty big, they don’t have any problem with that, but that’s not what we want to do because it's very important to so many of the parents. And instructors said today it's so important that the children at this age, especially that they're together, they're together on campus."⁣ ⁣ The comments by the president came at the end of a meeting with health experts, educators and politicians in the East Room where the administration pushed to reopen schools in the fall.⁣ ⁣ Go to the link in our bio for more on this story.

President Donald Trump on Wednesday threatened to withhold federal funding if schools don’t reopen in the fall, and he lashed out at federal health officials over school reopening guidelines that he says are impractical and expensive.⁣ ⁣ Taking to Twitter to voice his frustration, Trump argued that countries including Germany, Denmark and Norway have reopened schools “with no problems.” He also repeated his claim that Democrats want to keep schools closed for political reasons and not because of any risks associated with the coronavirus.⁣ ⁣ Trump made the comments a day after launching an all-out effort pressing state and local officials to reopen the nation’s schools and colleges this fall. At a White House event Tuesday, health and education officials argued that keeping students out of school for the fall semester would pose greater health risks than any tied to the coronavirus.⁣ ⁣ Go to the link in our bio for more on this story.

Foreign students won’t be able to stay in the United States if their universities decide to entirely rely on remote learning, according to new plans released by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Monday.⠀ ⠀ Foreigners are usually required to take no more than one class or three credit hours online for each semester, otherwise they would risk having their student visa denied or revoked. The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP), an ICE program that oversees foreign nationals on F and M visas, temporarily suspended this policy, allowing foreign students to take more online courses than “normally permitted by federal regulation” while keeping their non-immigrant status throughout spring and summer, as institutions across the country shifted to online education due to the pandemic.⠀ ⠀ Read this article: https://ept.ms/2VYJe8k⠀ ⠀ The latest #CCPvirus updates ➤ https://theepochtimes.com/ccp-virus⠀ ⠀ Get one month FREE FULL ACCESS to Epoch Digital.⠀ Sign up here: https://ept.ms/FreeMonth (no credit card needed)⠀ ⠀ GET THE APP: https://ept.ms/DownloadApp
